The tub is underway

M7 is a modular software platform from M7 Systems, built as machinery for identity, active applications, and direct connections. M7 Identity is its identity layer, providing sign-in and access management for people, apps, and organizations.

She's out. M7 Identity has made its maiden voyage, and there is a proper wake behind her.

If you are building an application, you can try Sign in with M7 now. Sign up, bring your app, and see how it feels to put M7 Identity to work. We are an independent shop, and this is the sort of launch we like best: something real for people to get their hands on.

PHP developers have an especially friendly place to start. The PHP walkthrough takes you from an HTML page to a working sign-in, and the first PHP tools are ready alongside it. If you are taking a different route, the public provider profile has the fuller map.

There is a bit of wind in the sails already: a third-party OAuth library has completed a live run with M7 Identity. That is a useful early sign, and it makes me happy. More than anything, though, I am glad we have reached the part where you can try it for yourself. Put it in your app, kick the tires, and tell us where the voyage takes you.
